TN Promise is a unique scholarship opportunity to attend college tuition and mandatory fee-free!
The application for the Class of 2025 closed on Nov. 1, 2024.
TN Promise is a last-dollar scholarship that allows students to attend an eligible institution for up to five semesters at a community college or four-year institution or eight trimesters at a Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT). As a last-dollar scholarship, the TN Promise scholarship will cover a student’s tuition and mandatory fees not paid by federal or state aid (i.e., Pell Grant, HOPE Scholarship, Tennessee Student Assistance Award and Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills Grant). See below for an example of how the funding operates at various institution types!

Keep in mind, this is a mandatory scholarship requirement. Failure to complete this requirement will result in the loss of TN Promise scholarship eligibility. Once eligibility is lost, it cannot be regained at a later date.

Complete and submit at least 8 hours of community service to tnAchieves.org for the summer 2025 term.
This deadline is only applicable to students who plan to attend a Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) during the summer term OR students who plan to enroll with TN Promise funding prior to fall 2025 term.

File the 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at StudentAid.gov. Please click here to learn more about this requirement!
